I am an Assistant Professor at the Center for Research in Computer Vision and the Department of Computer Science at the University of Central Florida. I received my PhD degree in computational neurosciences from the Institute for Studies in Fundamental Sciences (IPM) in Tehran, Oct. 2009. From May 2009- March 2010, I also worked at the University of Bonn, Germany with Dr. Simone Frintrop. I was a postdoctoral scholar at iLab, University of Southern California, Los Angeles from March 2010 to August 2014. After a year at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, USA as an assistant professor, I joined CRCV at UCF in Jan. 2016. My research interests include computer vision, machine learning, and neurosciences with particular emphasis on visual attention, visual search, active learning, scene and object recognition, egocentric vision, and biologically plausible vision models.
